Dropped Your Phone in Water? Do This, Not Rice

Do immediately
Power it off. Take the case off, SIM tray out. Pat dry, hold it port-down so water drains out rather than deeper in. Then get it to a repair bench the same day if you can — corrosion is a clock.
Never do
Don't charge it ('it still works!' is how boards short). Don't blow-dry it — heat pushes moisture into connectors. And skip the rice: it's a myth that mostly wastes the critical first day.
What a real treatment looks like
We open the phone, disconnect the battery, ultrasonic-clean the board and neutralize corrosion. Done early, the save rate is high — and even late, the photos usually survive.
